Carbonline Wheels llc. is proud to address all of our highlights and in the performance area is where the 100% carbon fiber wheels take charge. Carbonline wheels are extremely lightweight and have incredible strength characteristics. Our first carbon fiber wheel series is known as the( EPIC) series. This carbon fiber masterpiece of a wheel is at a lean weight of 14 lbs. each of the OEM wheels we took off and replaced with our( EPIC) series weighed in at 40 lbs. each. This made a weight savings of 104 lbs and translates into your car improving its performance in epic ways.
-Added Horsepower
-Improved Acceleration
-Improved Braking
-Improved Steering and Handling
-Improved Mechanical Tire Grip
-Improved Fuel Savings
-Improved Ride Quality
Carbonline Wheels are incredibly Lightweight wheels that reduce the rotational inertia of the rotating drivetrain components in a vehicle. By bolting on Carbonlines 14 lbs. carbon fiber wheel the weight savings depends on obviously the type of wheels that were replaced by Carbonlines. If your wheels weigh 40 lbs. each (which is very common )you will achieve a weight reduction of a 100 pounds. The reduction is so significant because of the large diameter of the wheels in relation to other drivetrain components and effectively means the engine uses more power accelerating the vehicle and less power rotating the wheels. This leads to significantly reduced acceleration times as are demonstrated here. The reduction in 0-60 mph trials ΒΌ mile trials are what could be expected from a significant power upgrade but were achieved with simple substitution for Carbonline's carbon fiber wheels.
Carbonline Wheels performed the above testing on a professional closed road course. The above test results are the overall averages of 20 - 0 to 60 mph. runs and also 20 - 1/4 mile runs. As you can see the test results are very impressive almost mind-boggling.
The benefits are truly amazing. This is the best and most overall upgrade to a vehicle for performance and style.
Reducing rotational mass will lead to a dramatic increase in reducing brake distance and therefore causing less friction on the rotors. This means improved braking and less wear , abuse on mechanical parts. All from having Carbonline Wheels. The reduction in rotational inertia also leads to lower brake temperatures and better fade resistance for repeated stops.
A lighter wheel or wheels , the less un-sprung mass. This actually means that your suspension has to work much less to dampen the wheel or wheels. This will result in less energy and less power being consumed from the engine. The job of your suspension is to keep the tires on the road surface . These surface variations result in the suspension and wheel assembly moving relative to the chassis. The heavier the wheel attached to the suspension, the harder the suspension system has to work in controlling this movement, and the slower the wheel and tire is to respond to these surface changes meaning the tire spends less time in contact with the road. By reducing wheel mass (unsprung mass) the tire is able to track the road surface significantly better, which results in improved grip between the tire and the road for better handling.
It is more difficult to move or steer a rotating mass than it is a stationary mass. Have you ever tried spinning a bicycle wheel while holding the axle in your hands and then performing a steering movement on that wheel? If you reduce the mass and specifically the rotating inertia, the force required to move or steer the mass is reduced significantly. The reduction in wheel mass also has a significant impact on the steering feel. Putting lighter wheels on your vehicle will reduce the steering forces significantly and therefore has a positive influence on driver's fatigue. By reducing wheel inertia it allows direction changes to happen more easily and as a result it greatly improves the steering feel that the driver will experience.
Carbon fiber is an extremely unique material. With its outstanding characteristics comes even more! Carbon fiber has great dampening values when Carbonline was in its early stages 10 years ago they created there first prototype. After white light scanning the wheel and confirming its correct dimensions were a pass, they wrapped on a tire and bolted it on a supercharged mustang. Right away they noticed and documented that by just bolting on one carbon fiber wheel that they immediately felt and noticed a much smoother and vibration free feel.
