One of Carbonline's main focal points has been in the testing and documentation tracking of this re-invention of the wheel program. Carbonline Wheels has practiced performing ISO9001 standards from the creation of CLW. Carbonline Wheels developed a unique software program in the early phases that basically collected all of the software and physical data then stored and compiled into designated locations making documentation tracking and performing quality control a much more precise process.
The manufacturing process that Carbonline performs on the EPIC carbon fiber wheel is a technique that can only be created with experts in the aerospace fields and other advanced industries. From the outside the wheel looks fairly simple but in fact it is a very complicated masterpiece.
Along with all of the in-house testing procedures. CLW has also logged well over a hundred hours on some of the well-known local race tracks (Infineon and Thunderhill ) to name a couple. CLW has also over the past six years been adding up real world road time on three test vehicles. CLW has over 250,000 miles combined between the road time vehicles and have nothing but great success.
One of the testing vehicles is a 600 plus rear wheel horsepower mustang. Carbonline wanted to put the world's lightest, strongest and visually stunning carbon fiber wheels under the most abusive conditions that a wheel would ever see. Obviously, we started off at a fairly slow pace at this stage in time we had already done some road course testing along with a good amount of software testing. After a day of doing light slalom course tests and stop and goes it was time to step it up a notch to the next step. Thish was to do full power launches which were no problem. Then came for power lap times, no problem. After determining that the wheel was bulletproof the driver tried everything he possibly could to destroy the wheel but could not. One of the things we hear a lot of and is very noticeable is the huge difference on how the vehicle performs and feels after changing over to Carbonline wheels.
CLW has a series of industry-standard tests. These are performed rigorously to achieve the highest standards not only in the automotive industries but the Aerospace industries too. CLW implements the most advanced technologies and methods to achieving the most accurate testing available. From white light scanning with reaching the tolerances .0002" to performing finite element analysis (FEA) you can be assured that quality and control is one of the foundations of CLW.
